- Youth Strategies' Social Enterprise begins!
Introducing the TURF TEAM! This Summer
Youth Strategies will start a new business that
will employ up to 15 young people. The new
venture will be a landscaping service that will
provide employment, mentoring, and life skills
for young people in need. We have already
begun signing contracts with area
businesses. If you would be interested in

- Youth Strategies Leads Northwest
Arkansas' AYDC Initiative putting young
people to work. Youth Strategies has been
asked to serve as a hub for the Arkansas
Youth Development Collaborative effort in
Northwest Arkansas. We are coordinating an
effort to provide jobs and support for "at risk"
youth in the area. The collaborative will include
the Northwest Arkansas Workforce Investment,
The Alternative Learning Environment, The
Jones Center, the Youth Resource Network
and its member agencies, NWA Child Care
Resource & Referral Center, and the Family
Resource Center.
- Youth Strategies has a new Director of
Operations. Dave Solomon comes to Youth
Strategies with a wealth of experience. Dave
served his country in the Army for 22 years. He
was a Field Artillery Office as well as an
Operations Specialist. He has an extensive
background in management and operations.
Following his military career, Dave was a plant
manager, a real estate broker, a business
broker, as well as owner of Northwest
Overhead Door Company. We are fortunate to
have someone with Dave's background and
expertise. Dave will serve as our Director of
Operations and will specifically help develop
and facilitate our up-coming social enterprises.
- Mike Fohner and Youth Strategies have been
nominated to enter a worldwide competition for
"changemakers" because of their "innovative
work in the social sector". The competition is
sponsored by The Ashoka's Changemakers

- Youth Strategies has partnered with the
Alternative Learning Center and the Springdale
School System to provide Leadership and
Character Training, Adventure Camping, and
Community Service opportunities for 150
students enrolled at the center. Youth
Strategies will implement 7 principles of
character and leadership followed by extra-
curricular activities and volunteer work with
area agencies.

We Need Your Help! We are currently seeking contributions to help us purchase backpacking equipment, bikes, and canoes for Adventure Program.

One major emphasis of QUEST, our character and leadership
development program, is community service. YS leadership
content as well as coordinate volunteer One major emphasis
of QUEST, our character and opportunities. Recently the
Har-Ber High School Women's leadership development
program, is community service. YS Soccer Team served as
hostesses for the Spring Provider works with school clubs
and teams to provide character & Conference. Over 200 area
Child Care Providers were in attendance at the all day event.

Just as an athlete practices every detail of their game in order to be their best, so too, our personal character needs practice. We need to understand the game of life. become successful. We need "coaches" who will teach us the values of the game; values like integrity, honesty, perseverance, and compassion. Youth Strategies seeks to provide the values and the practice to help young people become successful in life.
