Program Outcomes
Our Summer Program increased the employability of the participants from the Alternative Learning Environment by 61%.
At-risk youth placed in our jobs program from ALE have a two year success rate of 87%. Those placed in other jobs have a two year success rate of only 26%.
According to the Director of ALE our program has led to increased classroom participation, increased attendance, which has lead to greater graduation rates.
Prior to the Youth Strategies collaborative ALE had never been able to place students in jobs. Since the start of our jobs program in the summer of 2009, 53 Students have been placed in jobs through Youth Strategies.
100% of our participants have remained in school or graduated.
100% of our participants gave a portion or all of their paycheck to help pay family expenses such as rent, groceries, utilities, and transportation.
On average, youth in our program took advantage of services from three different agencies.
Our youth served 17 different non-profit agencies.
Area agencies provided supervision valued at $14,525.
Our program saved area agencies $34,251 in labor costs.
Area businesses provided $10,380 in-kind support for the summer program.
Our youth participated in 13 community service projects in 2010.
The Community Bike Shop saved the Springdale School System and the Siloam Springs School System a total of $9100 in repairs.
140 bikes were picked up, repaired, and returned to schools this summer.
One third of the bikes needed repairs beyond a general tune up.
